Collaboration is at the heart of Vev. You can work together with freelancers, clients, agencies, or team members by inviting them at different access levels: team, folder, or project — giving you complete control over what they can see and edit.

Inviting Collaborators at Different Levels

Vev allows you to collaborate flexibly, depending on how much access you want to grant.

Invite to a Team

Invite someone to your team to give them access to all folders and projects under that team. Note: Team members won’t have access to account-level templates or hosting settings. Click here to learn how to invite to the team level.

Invite to a Folder

Ideal when you want more control. Collaborators can only access the projects in the specific folder you invite them to — perfect for client-specific or department work. Click here to learn how to invite to the folder level.

Inviting users to a team and a folder is available in the Organization plan. If you're interested, reach out to our sales team. 🌟

Invite to a Project

To invite a collaborator to a single project, you can do so right in the Vev Editor:

  1. Open the project in the Vev Editor

  2. Click Share (top-right corner)

  3. Enter their email and choose the permission level

You can control whether they can edit, comment, or view only.

What Happens After You Invite?

Once an invitation is sent, your collaborator will receive an email. They'll need to accept the invite before they can access your content.

FAQ

Q: The people in my folder or team don’t match my account member list. Why?

A: Because collaborators can be added at the team or folder level with restricted access. Only members added at the account level appear in your "Members" list — and you are billed only for those.

Q: Do I have to pay for external collaborators?
A: No. You pay only for the members shown on your account’s Members list. External collaborators invited to teams or folders need to have their own Vev account.

Q: Why can I only have one team?
A: The Professional plan includes one team. To create additional teams, contact sales to discuss upgrading to the Organization plan.

Q: Where can I see folders shared with me?
A: Go to the Projects Dashboard, and check the Shared with me tab on the left side panel.

Q: Who pays for published projects when collaborating?
A: The account in which a project is created is the one that gets charged for publishing, even if an external collaborator worked on it.
