What is a Vev Account?

A Vev account serves as your dedicated workspace, keeping all projects, team members, settings, and billing organized in one place. You can now create and manage multiple accounts under a single login, making it easy to separate personal projects, freelance work, and client assignments.

What is an Account in Vev?

An account in Vev contains everything tied to a specific organization or client, including:

  • Projects

  • Members and permissions

  • Hosting domains

  • Integrations (e.g., analytics)

  • Billing and plan settings

Think of it like a container. You can create one for your company, one for a freelance client, or even one just for a side project.

Each account has its own billing plan and separate user access, giving you full control over who sees what and how it’s managed.

When Should You Create a New Account?

Here’s how we recommend thinking about account setup:

Use case

Create a new account?

Why?

Personal project

✅ Yes

Keep it separate from client work and avoid mix-ups

Client

✅ Yes

Separate billing, team access, and ownership

Different internal brand/team

❌ No

Create teams for each brand/department under one account instead, to manage access easily

Same team, same company

❌ No

Just invite teammates to your main account

💡 Tip: For freelancers and agencies, accounts help you set up clean project handoffs. Start in your own account, then transfer the project - or create the project directly in a separate account the client owns.

How to Create Additional Accounts

You can create as many accounts as you need directly from your dashboard:

  1. Click your company avatar in the left sidebar

  2. Select "+ Add new account" from the menu

  3. Complete the brief onboarding process to name your account and set your staging domain

No additional email address is required - your existing Vev user profile manages all accounts.

Switching Between Accounts

Navigate between your accounts easily:

  1. Click your avatar in the left sidebar

  2. Select any account from the list to enter that workspace

You can be a member or owner of multiple accounts, each with its own projects, permissions, and hosting configuration.

Joining Existing Accounts

You can collaborate across different organizations by joining existing accounts through invitations.

To view all accounts, you can access:
Click your company avatar in the left sidebar of the dashboard to see a complete list of accounts where you have membership.

Best Practices for Freelancers and Agencies

If you manage work for multiple clients or brands, follow these recommendations:

Account Structure:

  • Create a separate account for each client or brand

  • Use clear naming conventions (Examples: "ClientName Work," "Studio Portfolio," "Personal Sandbox")

  • Set clients as billing owners when handing off projects

Benefits of This Approach:

  • Maintains clean billing and ownership records

  • Prevents permission or access conflicts between clients

  • Simplifies project management and organization

Billing and Subscription Plans

Each Vev account operates with its own independent subscription and usage limits.

This structure allows you to:

  • Start clients on the Free plan initially

  • Keep projects financially separated

  • Manage budgets independently for each account or client
