Understanding Project Plan Costs
A "project plan" is required for each project you want to publish to a custom domain. The billing works as follows:
Each paid plan includes one project plan for free.
You can purchase additional project plans for $7 per month, per project.
Example: A Solo plan user who wants to publish 3 projects would pay the base $29/month, plus $14/month for two additional project plans, for a total of $43/month.
Explaining the New Solo Plan
Why We Introduced the Solo Plan
We received feedback that the gap between our Free and Pro plans was too large. The Solo plan directly addresses this by providing a dedicated option for individuals and freelancers who need more control and publishing capabilities without the team collaboration features of the Pro plan.
What Happens to Current Starter Plan Users
If you are currently on the legacy Starter plan, your account will be automatically moved to the Free plan on March 11, 2025. To regain publishing features and a custom domain, you will need to upgrade to the Solo plan or another paid plan.
Changes to the Pro Plan
The Pro plan is receiving updated limits to better define its scope for small teams. The new limits are:
Users: A maximum of 5 users per account.
Project Plans: A maximum of 10 total project plans.
Domains: A maximum of 3 unique custom domains.
Action Required for Existing Pro Users
If your account is within the new limits: No action is needed. You will not see any change in your billing or features.
If your account exceeds the new limits: Don't worry. You will be grandfathered in and will keep all your existing users, project plans, and domains. However, you will not be able to add more users, project plans, or domains beyond the new thresholds unless you upgrade to an Org plan.
Updates to Guest Permissions and Roles
To streamline collaboration and improve security, we are updating how guest permissions work.
New Guest Permission Levels
Guests will now have two clear permission levels:
View: Can view the project but cannot make any changes.
Edit: Can edit the project design and content.
Important Change for Publishing
Guests will no longer have the ability to publish projects. Only full members of the account can publish. This change ensures that publishing rights are managed solely by the account owner and core team members.
Custom Roles for Org Plan Users
For organizations on the Org plan, we are introducing Custom Roles. This allows administrators to:
Create new roles with specific permissions.
Fine-tune what different team members can see and edit.
Define custom access levels beyond the standard "View" and "Edit."
Required Actions for Your Account
Please review the following to see if you need to take any action.
Starter Plan Users: You will be moved to the Free plan. Upgrade to Solo or Pro to maintain publishing capabilities.
Pro Plan Users: Your existing resources are protected. Review the new limits; if you need to expand beyond them, consider the Org plan.
All Users: Review your guest collaborators and ensure anyone who needs publishing rights is added as a full member of your account.
