In this article, we'll walk you through the ins and outs of using the search function within Vev to quickly locate and access your project content. Whether you're searching for specific pages, templates, workspaces, teams, or projects, our powerful search feature has you covered.

ℹ️ This feature is only available for the users on the Organization plan

Locating the Search Bar

To initiate your search, follow these steps:

  1. Sidebar Search Option: On the left sidebar of your dashboard, look for the "Search" option at the top. Click on it to open the search menu.

  2. Keyboard Shortcut: For an even quicker way to access the search menu, simply use the keyboard shortcut CMD/CTRL-K from anywhere within Vev.

Conducting Your Search

With the search menu open, start typing your search query in the search field at the top. Our search function scans through all your project content, including text, pages, workspaces, teams, and templates. As you type, the search results will dynamically update to show relevant matches.

Applying Filters

To narrow down your search to specific content types, you can use filters. Here's how:

  1. Click on the filter button that represents the content type you're interested in. You can filter by pages, projects, workspaces, teams, and templates.

  2. The search results will display matches related to the selected content type. This makes it easy to quickly find what you're looking for without sifting through unrelated results.

Clearing Your Search

Changed your mind or need to start a new search? No problem! To clear your current search query, click the "clear" button located to the right of the search field. This will reset the search and allow you to start fresh.

Understanding Search Results

When your search results are displayed, you'll notice the following:

  1. Content Hierarchy: If you've filtered your search on pages, the results will show the hierarchy structure. Pages will be listed within their respective teams, workspaces, and projects. For workspace-only searches, the team associated with each workspace will be indicated.

  2. Publish Destination: Published content will be indicated in blue, and clicking on it will open the hosting settings in a new tab for easy access.

Quick Actions

At the bottom of the search menu, you'll find convenient quick actions:

  • Open New Project: Start a new project, which will be added to your "Recent" projects list.

  • Invite Team Members: Easily invite team members to your Vev account to collaborate seamlessly.

  • Request a Feature: Suggest a new feature that will help us improve your Vev experience.
