Text is one of the core building blocks of any Vev project.
It allows you to communicate information, create hierarchy, bring structure to your designs, and improve your project's search engine optimization (SEO).
This guide covers how to add, format, and style text, as well as how to manage fonts across your projects.
Adding a Text Element
You can add text to your design from the top bar navigation or by pressing the keyboard shortcut T.
How to Add Text
Click once on the canvas to place a text element with auto width.
The container’s width automatically adjusts based on the text content.
Click and drag on the canvas to manually define the text box width.
The width is set as a percentage, making it responsive.
The height of all text boxes is automatically set to auto, allowing the container to grow or shrink based on the content inside.
Using Text Tags
Text tags (also known as HTML tags) define the structure and importance of your content. Choosing the right tag improves SEO, accessibility, and overall content hierarchy.
How to Apply Text Tags
Select a text element and begin editing its content.
In the top bar navigation, choose the desired text tag from the dropdown menu.
The text size and style update automatically based on the styling defined in your Style Panel.

💡 Tip: You can mix multiple text tags within a single text box.
This makes it easier for search engines to crawl your content and keeps your design structure clean.
In-Line Formatting
In-line formatting allows you to style individual words or characters within a text box—perfect for adding emphasis or links.
How to Apply In-Line Formatting
Double-click the text element to enter the editor.
Highlight the text you want to format.

Start typing the font name or browse through your available fonts.
