The Fan Menu component provides a convenient and visually appealing way for your readers to navigate through a project or website. This menu uses a standard burger menu icon as a trigger. When clicked, it expands to reveal a fan-like dropdown menu containing various navigation options, improving user experience and site navigation.
Adding the Fan Menu
Follow these steps to successfully add the Fan Menu to your project canvas:
Access the Add Menu: Click on the Add Menu icon in the left panel (or use the keyboard shortcut: M).
Search for the Component: Search for and select the Page Tile Menu component.
Place on Canvas: Click and drag the component and place it onto your project canvas where you want it to appear.
Tip: After placing the component, you must pin the menu to the necessary pages. This essential setting is available at the top of the styles panel and ensures the menu is consistently visible across the intended pages of your project.
Setting Up the Fan Menu Navigation
To make the Fan Menu functional, you need to add and configure individual menu items.
Adding a New Menu Item
Each menu item within the Fan Menu acts as a navigable link. Follow these steps to add and configure a menu item:
Open Configuration: Double-click the Fan Menu component on the canvas.
Add Item: Click on the Add menu item button within the configuration panel.
Set the Label (Name): Write the desired name for the link in the Label field. This is the text the user will see in the menu.
Choose Link Type: Select the type of destination from the Link type dropdown menu (e.g., Internal Page, External URL, Section Anchor, etc.).
Configure Link: Set up the specific link type you've chosen. (For detailed instructions, refer to the Link Types section in the main Help Center documentation).
To add all necessary items, repeat these steps.
To edit an existing item, click the Pen icon next to the item's name to re-enter its configuration options.
Arranging the Menu Item's Order
The vertical order of the navigation links in the fan menu (the navigation pager order) is directly affected by the order of your menu items in the configuration list.
To rearrange the order of the menu items:
Open Configuration: Double-click the Fan Menu.
Initiate Move: Click and hold the equal icon (=) next to the menu item you wish to relocate.
Drag and Drop: Drag the item up or down the list to its desired new position, then release.
