Add videos to your canvas from multiple sources
Looking to add a video to your site? Choose from your preferred source and easily add it to your canvas.
Hot Tip: For longer videos and if you want 4k quality, consider a third party like Youtube or Vimeo and adding from that source.

Adding a Video from a File

Add a Video element by using the Video tool in the top bar or navigate to the Add Menu and select the Video element from there.
To add a Video:
  • Select the Video tool on the top-bar and choose your preferred source
  • Click and drag onto your canvas
  • Double-click on the Video Element to add from a file, YouTube, Video, and others.
Note: If you'd like to upload a video from a file, select the Video element, otherwise choose from the preferred source or specific behavior

Supported files

  • MP4
  • WAV
  • MOV

Editing the Video Parameters and Dimensions

Note: This lesson applies to all Video elements

Double-click the Video element to open up the options and parameters

Recommended for mobile
Start play on visible
Toggle to autoplay when the video scrolls into view
Loop
Toggle to continuously loop the video
Mute
Toggle to mute video
Show video controls
Toggle to hide the controls of the default player
Fill player dimensions
Fits the video within the element size and aspect ratio
Lazyload video
Loads the video once it scrolls into view. Recommended for performance
Play/pause on hover
Toggle to pause the video when the user hovers over the element
*Only available on desktop
No tracking
Toggle to prevent the video from sending tracking events.

Dimensions

Use the Style Panel to edit the dimension size of a video.
Note: You can use an aspect ratio calculator to find what pixel dimensions are right for your video.
If black bars on the top and bottom persist, you can disregard the aspect ratio by toggling the parameter for 'fill player dimensions'.

Adding a Video from a Source (YouTube, Vimeo, and JW Player)

If you'd like to add a Video from a streaming service, use the specific Video element for that platform.

Youtube

To add a Youtube video:
  • Select the Video tool on the top-bar and select the YouTube Video element
  • Click and drag onto your canvas
  • Double-click on the YouTube Video Element to add from a URL

Toggle to hide the controls of the YouTube player

Vimeo

To add a Vimeo video:
  • Navigate to the Add Menu and search 'Vimeo'
  • Click and drag onto your canvas
  • Double click on the Vimeo Video Element to add from a URL

Change the color of the Vimeo player text and controls
Autoplay
Toggle to autoplay when the video scrolls into view
Lazy load
Loads the video once it scrolls into view. Recommended for performance
Mute audio
Toggle to mute the audio

Pauses the video if another video starts playing
Loop
Toggle to continuously play the video

JWPlayer

To add a JWPlayer video:
  • Navigate to the Add Menu and search 'JW Player'
  • Click and drag onto your canvas
  • Double click on the JW Player Video Element to add from a URL

Troubleshooting

I want my video to play with audio but it's alway muted when I preview my site. Why is this?
Modern browsers automatically mute videos that autoplay. You can find a more in-depth article from Google on this policy change.
There is no way to force videos to autoplay with sound β€” the visitor must manually choose to play sound.
