If you would like Vev to transfer files to your SFTP (SSH File Transfer Protocol) or FTPS (File Transfer Protocol), we can set up a Hosting Adapter which will handle this connection. We recommend setting the adapter up using the SFTP option.
To connect to your SFTP or FTP, we require the following information:
- Hostname/port – where you want Vev to connect using supplied credentials.
- Credentials – a username which Vev can identify as when connecting.
- Web root folder – where you want Vev to place the files on your server.
- (Optional) Web base path – if you don't want any conflicts with the naming of URLs on your existing domain, you may apply a /custompath/ which will be added to all projects published on this instance.
When we set up the adapter, we will generate a public/private key pair and provide you with the public key. If you have chosen the SFTP option, adding this key to your .ssh/authorized_keys will give Vev a secure way to connect to your server. When creating an FTP(s) adapter, you will have to log in and enter the password yourself in the Vev Hosting dashboard after it is set up.
To set up one of these adapters, contact Vev for assistance.
