Learn how to Publish your projects and manage your Hosting here. Manage shared access to your Hosting and add Hosting Plugins to easily manage metadata, tracking and custom scripts on your site.
Free publish instance, for testing!
When you create a new project in Vev, it will come with a free default instance to publish your content. You may at any time publish to this URL to see how your project looks like on your desktop or on a device. The content will be available at a generated link on eit.vev.design.
This publishing instance comes with Vev branding and is not meant for your content to be in production. Use it to test your content, or give your customer a preview.
Note: You cannot edit publish settings or add metadata for your free publish instance.
Hosting your projects on a custom domain
To publish projects to a domain you or your clients own, your user will need to be on a paid plan.
On a paid plan, you will have access to one free Standard Hosting Instance where we host your files through our top-tier content delivery networks. You can at any time add other domains to publish to. The requirement for using Vev's Standard Hosting Instance is that you have permission to add a CNAME pointer for the domain. To learn more about CNAME pointers, check out this article or ask your tech person / domain owner.
If you already have an existing platform, CMS or website on your target domain, and you want your Vev projects to live side-by-side - we suggest for our Basic Users to host your Vev content on a sub-domain such as content.vev.design instead.
If you are an Enterprise customer, you will have access to various custom Hosting Adapters which will let you integrate Vev on you or your clients existing domain. This allows you to publish Vev projects to your domain regardless of which technology is used to power an existing website. We offer both webhooks and multiple other options for secure file transfers of your content.
Each Hosting instance comes with several tiers you can use to configure settings and add Hosting Plugins. These tiers permit you to configure and set default values for your Hosting per Core, Workspace or Project level.
Core settings will always apply to content published on a given Hosting. Set defaults and add default plugins here which should always be present.
Add settings which are related to a specific workspace. If you have a workspace per customer - you may want to add some customer specific tracking codes on the workspace level.
Finally you may at the project-level add new plugins or override any previous settings that may have been inherited from the Core-hosting or Workspace-hosting settings.
Metadata, Tracking, SEO
Adding metadata, tracking and other SEO optimizing features is easy. Use the Vev Hosting Plugin system to keep track of all your Project's invisible features. You may also add plugins without any settings, and require the designer/developer to input them before the content is published.
