Overview

Vev projects are designed to perform best in modern, up-to-date web browsers.
We officially support the five most recent stable releases of all major browsers to ensure a consistent experience across devices and platforms.

If you’re using an out-of-date browser, you may not see the full experience of your project and could encounter unexpected issues while viewing or editing.

Browser Requirements for the Vev Editor

Vev is a Chromium-based web tool, which means it relies on browsers built using the Chromium engine.
To build or edit projects in Vev, you must use one of the following desktop browsers:

  • Google Chrome

  • Microsoft Edge

  • Brave

  • Arc

⚠️ Note: Browsers that are not Chromium-based (for example, Safari or Firefox) are not supported for editing in Vev. They may not fully load the editor or may cause performance issues.

Viewing Published Vev Projects

Once your project is published, it can be viewed using nearly any modern browser, not just Chromium-based ones.
This includes popular browsers such as:

  • Safari

  • Mozilla Firefox

  • DuckDuckGo

  • Chromium-based browsers (Chrome, Edge, Brave, Vivaldi, Arc, etc.)

Minimum Supported Browser Versions

Published Vev projects support the following browsers and versions (and all newer versions):

  • Safari 13.1+

  • iOS (WebKit) 13.1+

  • Chrome 83+

  • Microsoft Edge 83+

  • Opera 69+

  • Opera Mobile 69+

  • Samsung Internet 13+

  • Firefox (Gecko) 102+

  • All Chromium-based browsers version 83+
(e.g., Brave 1.11+, Android Browser, Vivaldi, etc.)

Important Note About Safari

Some users may experience browser crashes or performance issues when viewing web pages — including Vev projects — in Safari.
This issue is most common on iPhone, but can also affect iPad and desktop versions.

To minimize the risk of crashes or rendering errors:

  • Keep your iOS and Safari browser up to date.

  • Regularly restart your device to clear cached data.

  • If issues persist, try opening your project in Google Chrome or another Chromium-based browser.

Autoheight Values in Safari

When designing in Vev using Autoheight values, Safari might not calculate the height correctly, leading to layout issues.
To fix this problem:

  • Use pixel (px) values instead of Autoheight when possible.

  • Preview your project in Safari to confirm that elements render as expected before publishing.

FAQs

I’m using a supported browser but still having issues. What should I do?

If you’re encountering problems even though you’re using a supported browser, try the following steps:

  1. Check for browser updates
Make sure your browser is running the latest version.
(For example, in Chrome, go to Settings → About Chrome to update.)

  2. Clear your browser cache
Cached files can cause old or incomplete versions of your site to load.

  3. Restart your browser and device
Sometimes temporary system processes can interfere with performance.

If you’ve tried these steps and still experience issues, our support team can help.
